The great Kate debate begins. What will the Duchess of Cambridge wear to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding? Since Kate is going to welcome her third child in late April, a mere few weeks before the nuptials, it’s unlikely she will select anything which isn’t comfortable or conservative. In all likelihood the Duchess will follow her usual rulebook which demands dress coats, clutches, suede pumps and fascinators. She will likely not want to be the star on the day of the royal wedding.

Indeed, many believe Kate will select a garment she’s worn previously and may have it altered to fit her postpartum frame. What are the potential ensembles Kate may wear as Harry and Meghan’s wedding guest? Many royal watchers are predicting Catherine Walker, Alexander McQueen or Erdem. As Kate donned Alexander McQueen for both of her children’s christenings–there’s a strong possibility she could opt for an elegant dress from the British design house.

The dress of choice is likely to be simple, unfussy and in a neutral shade like pale blue, tan, yellow or soft pink. The Duchess won’t be looking to upstage the bride but will want to look fashionable and presentable without drawing to much attention to herself. Undoubtedly Kate will take into consideration the springtime weather as well as her comfort level as she’ll need to wear something that will allow her to attend a day’s worth of events including dancing and conversing for many hours on her feet.

Here are Our Predictions for Kate’s Royal Wedding Attire:

Option #1: Sunshine Style

Kate could wear this lemon yellow Emilia Wickstead coat with nude pumps by LK Bennett. The dress coat is bright, modest and has definite spring vibes. Plus, it’s colorful shade would likely be appreciated by the Queen who endorses exuberant colors. Kate previously chose this style for a garden party in 2013.

Option #2: Peachy Keen

Though Kate will likely be in the gym quickly after giving birth, she may still want to opt for a maternity style like this pale pink Jenny Packham dress she wore to the Queen’s coronation to Westminster Abbey in the summer of 2013. The light color would not cause any royal ruckus and Kate would seamlessly blend into the crowd of wedding guests and spectators.

Option #3: The Blue Satin Stunner

In 2014, Kate recycled her Christopher Kane light blue silky dress for a royal function. Since the dress has a waist-cinching and flattering flared fit, it could be a good option for her post-baby body. In addition, Kate loves to wear sky blue colors and this dress is more elegant and appropriate for a fancier event like a wedding.

Option #4: A Hint of Mint

Not only would this mint Mulberry coat look perfect for a spring season wedding, but Kate could comfortably move, mingle and even break out into a little dance at the reception in this speckled coat. With a lot of give–this looser style coat would be nice to wear as it drapes and flatters plus it has fun details like floral buttons.
