Every spring season is a time to celebrate the end of the era of oversized sweaters, bulky boots and the forever formidable tunic and leggings combo. Gone are the days where soft pajama bottoms and fuzzy slippers seem like a fashion statement. Yes, hello spring!

There’s no better way to usher in an era of warmer temperatures, sunny skies and outdoor adventure than with a fresh spring wardrobe and who is better to guide us down the path of springtime style than her soon-to-be royal highness Meghan Markle? She’s pretty, perky and never predictable when it comes to her sartorial statements.

Here we offer up the down and dirty guide to dressing like the future duchess.

Pass the Pinafore

Decidedly ditching the dress coats and court shoes in favor of something with subtle sex appeal and a bit of glamour, Markle went for a button-down ottoman dress called the Audrey from Altuzzara for a Commonwealth Youth Forum day in London. The lightweight belted midi was a refreshing and somewhat daring choice for a royal appearance. Unfortunately, the hefty price tag of the dress at $1195 will leave many style savvy shoppers out in the cold–fear not, we have some mimic Meghan pieces.

Fresh Florals

Cast away the winter doldrums in a bright green floral off-the-shoulder dress like Markle’s Self-Portrait style. Perfect for warm weather events like weddings, baby showers and evening date nights, this polished but still approachable look is Meghan Markle approved with its fun ruffle details, playful straps and modern midi length. Cape Crusader

In one of their last royal appearances before starting the big wedding countdown, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended a star studded bash and concert for the Queen’s 92nd birthday. Performers included: Kylie Minogue, Sting, Tom Jones and Shaggy. To mark the occasion, Markle stepped out in a navy blue Stella McCartney cape dress that nearly matched the Prince’s suit to perfection. Taking a class from Kate’s Royal Dressing School, this monochromatic ensemble was ultra regal and sophisticated. Markle paired it with a gold astrology clutch, suede pumps and Shaun Leane Vermeil Talon Earrings. Roar!
