Today marks the one-month wedding anniversary for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and what better way to celebrate than a day at Royal Ascot? The Queen invites her family to join her at the annual horse racing event at Ascot Racecourse (around 30 minutes from London) every June. Long considered to be a highlight in the summer social calendar, the event is so popular that there is a 100-year long waiting list to win a parking spot in the exclusive Ascot parking lot, the Royal Enclosure.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex rode in carriage number three today in the royal procession.

The Duchess of Sussex was seen wearing white Givenchy and a Philip Treacy hat riding in the carriage with Sophie the Countess of Wessex. She sat across from Prince Harry in the royal carriage.

Later on, the couple were seen sharing giggles with Prince Charles, studying the program and making small talk with the Queen who was outfitted in a summery yellow ensemble. The couple also participated in handing out the trophy for the St. James’ Palace Stakes. Harry loved every inch the newlywed and was beaming at his bride.

More details on Meghan’s white Givenchy midi dress with lace detailing just under the bustline:

The Duchess of Sussex opted to follow the lead of sister-in-law Kate who loves white and lace for Royal Ascot day as she selected a white embroidered shirtdress from Givenchy with lace appliques and a high low hem. Givenchy artistic director, Clare Waight Keller and Duchess Meghan have fostered a fast fashion friendship since the royal wedding. Meghan paired the sleek button-front dress with black heels, black waist-cinching Givenchy belt and and black and white Philip Treacy fascinator which was quicky compared to an Audrey Hepburn style.

The asymmetric midi hemline of Meghan’s style gives it a modern twist while the collar offers a smart and traditional look. Meghan has long loved white button down shirts and they are frequently on repeat in her fashion rolodex and she even wore the Husband shirt by Misha Nonoo for her royal debut with Prince Harry–today’s dress gives her that classic-cool girl vibe but is still sophisticated enough for a socialite.
