The Duchess of Sussex knows a thing or two about getting red carpet ready. The former actress frequently had to look her best for stage and screen including looking picture perfect for press junkets, editorial shoots and television. And who did Meghan call when she needed a bit of help in the makeup department? None other than longtime friend and makeup mastermind Daniel Martin.

Martin has been in Meghan’s beauty rolodex since 2011. The two communicated via texts and emojis to organize her glam goals for the royal wedding. Martin told Elle magazine that Prince Harry’s other half is: “Very open and loves makeup” and says that he always enjoys and has fun playing dress up with the duchess.

Daniel recently revealed Meghan did her own makeup with no professional help for the Royal Air Force celebration and he says overall the duchess is “not a fussy person” when it comes to her beauty routine. When left to her own devices, Meghan loves the following cosmetic products.

A favorite lip product of Meghan’s is the Charlotte Tilbury Modern Matte lipstick in Very Victoria. The suede taupe nude is inspired by Meghan’s friend Victoria Beckham.
