The Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex are two of the biggest fashion trendsetters in the world. Both women have closets full of enviable ensembles and jewelry chests stocked with priceless baubles and royal heirlooms. Still, these women are required to be ‘cutting edge’ as their place in the public eye ensures that every item they wear will be scrutinized and analyzed from their hair bows to their stockings (or lake thereof!). No doubt their advisors and style consultants help them select fashions that will be both trendy, timeless and tailor-made for their roles as ambassadors of the Crown. Still, we couldn’t help but make a ‘Wish List’ of items we’d love to see these two fashionistas don in the coming months of autumn.

Here are Fall Trends We’d Love to See Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Wear:

Corduroy

For a visit to Star House Children’s Hospice in December 2013, Kate wore navy corduroy pants that she paired with a jacket from Reiss. The heavy cord style is coming back in a big way especially with burgundy and camel colored skirts–we’d love to see the Duchess of Cambridge wear the fabric again.

Ceramic Jewelry

Acrylic jewelry is making a major comeback. The ‘plastic’ costume jewelry inspired trend is ready for its day in the sun and the look is all about statement pieces mottled with colors ranging from tortoise to rainbow. From shiny colorful lucite baubles to eye-catching bohemian inspired resin hoops and bracelets, this is one accessory movement that’s likely to stick around. Kate is ahead of the game and wore these lime and emerald Zeen Ceramic Drop earrings for a pre-Pakistan outing with Prince William.

Over-the-Knee Boots

The Duchess of Sussex loves modern pieces and is a real mix master with her high-low cost wardrobe; she often wears throwback favorites like collared coats and beloved new designs together like art deco earrings. The now mom of one stepped out for her first Christmas with the royal family in some suede Highland boots from Stuart Weitzman and it was a major moment (#shoeswoon). We hope to see Meghan repeat the OTK look for another engagement soon.

Fringed Scarf

Big oversized shawls and heavy fringe scarfs are all the rage. Duchess Meghan was ahead of the scarf movement when she donned a Sentaler Sand Grey Royal Baby Alpaca Wrap following a spa day in London. We’d love to see Her Royal Highness wrap up in another cozy number either in Glen or Buffalo plaid, leopard or a shade like deep teal.

Sherpa

Teddy coats and fuzzy sherpa styles are a fall trend we’d love to see on Kate or Meghan. While Meghan has worn a sherpa vest by Reitmans–it will still be a dream to see her in a faux fur or or fleece jacket with a chunky collar and patch pockets.
