The Duchess of Cambridge has mastered the art of fashion diplomacy and it was her lookbook in Pakistan that brought out her undeniable sartorial showmanship. From a glamorous green sequin gown created with a nod to Pakistan’s flag to a dreamy blue and white ombre design by Catherine Walker (with accessories from local designer Zeen), Kate never suffered a style slip-up during the week long tour of the country. The mom of three looked every inch the future Queen Consort in a dazzling array of colorful ensembles inspired by Pakistani culture and tradition.

Here are Kate Middleton’s 5 Best Looks on Tour in Pakistan:

  1. Blue Us Away

The Duchess of Cambridge looked magnificent in this wholly ethereal gown with a blue and white gradient effect by Catherine Walker for an evening arrival into the South Asian country. At Pakistani Air Force Base Nur Khan, Kate was a vision in a shalwar kameez–with a show-stopping draped neckline. The ensemble also featured long sleeves and tonal decorative buttons from the cuff to the elbow.

2. Royal Blue

Visiting Islamabad Model College for Girls in the Pakistani capital, Kate looked sensational in a periwinkle kurta with a scarf by local designer Maheen Khan and statement earrings by Zeen. The busy matriarch wisely chose a look that would be versatile enough for the second outing of the day–a stop at Margalla Hills National Park. Kate’s embroidered silk tunic was a win and her dupatta with an uneven hem was a chic choice.

3. Sequin Showstopper

Just call her the the Duchess of Drama!  Kate brought her A-game to a Pakistani reception where she wowed in a Jenny Packham dark green gown that looked like a design fit for the red carpet. After arriving in a colorful tuk-tuk, Kate proved she was a flashbulb favorite as she strode into the National Monument soiree soaked in sequins. Kate’s dress featured a fitted waistline with crystal embellished crew neckline.

4. Teal Triumph

In Lahore, the Cambridges visited the Badshahi Mosque and attended an interfaith meeting where Kate donned a jade shalwar kameez and coordinating headscarf. The off-the-rack design by Maheen Khan, is an exclusive to O’nitaa in London and is crafted from French chiffon with hand embroidered gold-colored silk by the tribespeople of Swarth in Pakistan. At the Mosque, Kate removed her shoes but kept on a pair of sheer tan stockings for a walk during the visit.

5. Back to Basics

Rather than a colorful ensemble for their final day in Pakistan, Kate opted for a monochromatic ensemble of black and white to visit the Army Canine Centre in Islamabad. Opting for a white shalwar kameez with a silk satin and wool crepe coat from Beulah London, Kate looked effortlessly elegant for a doggone good time.
