For the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex 2019 was a year of major milestones and some magical fashion moments. From the birth of baby Archie to the Royal Tour of Pakistan and Southern Africa, Kate and Meghan had busy years filled with an array of gorgeous gowns, memorable midi dresses and a few pairs of preppy pants thrown in for good measure. Here we look back at their exciting years and most glittery and glamorous style moments from 2019.

Here are Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s Best Looks of 2019:

The Duchess of Cambridge

In keeping with Kate’s style aesthetic, the mom of three didn’t deviate from her love of timeless and classic styles. While she opted for puffer coats, combat boots and affordable mock-neck sweaters for casual outings, the future Queen consort was far more daring with some of her stunning evening attire.

  1. BAFTA Beauty

Perhaps one of her greatest style moments of all time, Kate wowed in an ethereal Grecian off-the-shoulder gown by Alexander McQueen for the BAFTA Awards in February 2019. As she floated down the red carpet, Kate turned more than a few heads and caused a flurry of flashbulbs while looking effortlessly graceful and poised. To add-on to her angelic gown, the duchess wore glittery Jimmy Choo pumps and Princess Diana’s pearl and diamond drop earrings.

2. Archie’s Aunt

While most would’ve assumed the Duchess of Cambridge might select something quite demure for Archie Harrison’s christening in July 2019–Kate shocked and surprised royal watchers with a rather revealing style. Opting for a slinky pink Stella McCartney, Kate was every inch the trendsetter with a pussy bow thigh grazing dress and a straw pillbox hat along with vampy red suede Gianvito Rossi pumps.

3. Pakistan Princess

For Day 2 of the Royal Visit Pakistan, Kate brought her A-game and arrived at the National Monument in Islamabad in an unforgettable green sequin dress by Jenny Packham. The long sleeve Georgia gown from the coveted British label featured a tailored waistline accentuated with a row of crystals and allover sequin embellishment. The Cambridge matriarch nearly broke the Internet with her dazzling dark green gown.

The Duchess of Sussex

While Meghan was in her final maternity months at the beginning of the year, it didn’t slow down the mom-to-be who wore a variety of smart shirt dresses, chic coats and luxurious LBDs throughout 2019. Intent on staying true to her style sensibilities, Meghan opted for more monochromatic styles and daring hemlines.

  1. Designer Duchess

In custom Carolina Herrera to meet the King of Morocco, Meghan looked like a true fashion icon. The floral printed silk chiffon dress had a signature style element that Meghan covets in her closet of couture–namely sheer sleeves. Ready to reign in this tiered ruffle sleeve dress with an elastic waistband, Meghan was magnificent in Morocco. (Plus, how cute is it that Prince Harry’s blue shoes matched his wife’s dress?)

2. When in Rome

The Duke and Duchess looked giddy with excitement as they attended Misha Nonoo’s nuptials in Rome where Meghan opted for a black Valentino puff sleeve embroidered tulle gown. Made in Italy and priced at $13,500 the stunning style is bound to be in Meghan’s clothing rotation for years to come. Here’s to hoping we see the evening dress in all it’s glory at a black tie event or gala in 2020.

3. Red Hot

An instant sellout, Meghan’s red leather Hugo Boss skirt brought a little bit of drama to her daytime roundtable discussion in late October. The skintight skirt looked phenomenal on the new mom who paired it with a garnet red sweater by Joseph as well as some sultry Sarah Flint pumps in cabernet suede.
