Capturing the Christmas spirit with a red and white patterned dress from Alessandra Rich, the Duchess of Cambridge looked every inch the happy holiday hostess as she and Prince William prepared a party for charity volunteers that work to help the needy over Christmas. The special TV program will feature the Cambridges alongside the British food writer as they collaborate on whipping up a heartwarming holiday feast.

The forthcoming hour-long TV program, A Very Berry Christmas will be airing on BBC One on December 16th. During the show, Berry will be preparing some of her favorite festive recipes while Kate and William join in on the action by assisting with cooking and setup including cake decorating!

For the Christmas themed appearance, the duchess opted for a new seasonal showstopper in the way of a red and white silk crepe midi dress from Alessandra Rich. The white polka dot print dress (perhaps a bit like snowfall) hails from Rich’s Fall ’19 collection and features a vintage-inspired silhouette. Kate’s dress recalls elegant styles from the ’40s and is cut from silk-jacquard patterned with polka-dots and petals. The festive frock also has a front cutout and ties at the neck with a V-shaped waist and pleated skirt.

This is not the first time Duchess Kate has stepped out in a pretty polka dot dress by the contemporary women’s designer–the mom of three recently wore a similar style for a visit to Bletchley Park in May of this year. Polka dot print was a signature of Princess Diana and many think that the duchess is paying tribute to her late mother-in-law with the dotty styles.
