The Duchess of Cambridge is often spotted in suede pointed pumps, scalloped sandals and conservative court shoes but the mom of three still has an affinity for chunky wedges. Often stepping out in the shoes in the summer, the British born beauty has a love affair with all things cork and espadrille.

Here are Kate Middleton’s 7 Best Wedge Moments:

  1. Pied A Terre Imperia Wedges-Black

In India in April 2016, Duchess Kate wore Pied A Terre Black Imperia wedges while on tour with husband Prince William. While the canvas wedges costing less than $100 seemed pauper-priced, the future Queen consort was not afraid to save some serious cash on her shoes. The busy royal has worn the classic round toe, buckle slingback espadrilles on at least 10 occasions.

2. Stuart Weitzman Minx Wedges

While in Australia, the duchess proved why she’s a fashion icon with her natural tan cork wedges. The braided platforms were perfect for strolling Down Under as well as making ideal footwear for plenty of polo. Kate’s donned the designer shoes on at least six occasions.

3. Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon Wedges

One of perhaps Duchess Kate’s favorite pairs of wedges and possibly favorite pairs of shoes, the busy Cambridge matriarch has worn the 4 1/2″ platform navy wedges from Stuart Weitzman on 15 occasions! Often pairing them with skinny jeans and her favorite ‘Duchess’ blazer–these chic cork shoes are on permanent princess rotation.

4. L.K. Bennett Greta Wedges

One of her most iconic pairs of shoes, Kate wore these black patent wedges in 2009–and for a photo call in a Zara dress the day after marrying husband Prince William in 2011. The shoes feature a raffia platform wedge heel and closed toe black patent upper.

5. Pied A Tierre Imperia Wedges-Natural

In July 2012, Kate looked picture perfect in her second pair of Pied wedges for a charity event. At the engagement Kate wore a gray and white Hobbs ‘Wessex’ dress which she paired with her platforms. And Kate wasn’t afraid to put her footwear to good use and managed to keep the espadrilles on for a little table tennis and football.

6. Monsoon Fleur Wedges

Duchess Kate hosted a garden party wearing these suede espadrilles with an almond toe vamp. The neutral wedges have been in her closet for years and she’s worn them since April 2016 while touring Mumbai.

7. Castaner Carina 80 Brown Suede Wedges

Kate is in good company with her love of Castaner — the Duchess of Sussex, Pippa Middleton and Queen Letizia all own lace-up wedges by the brand. The duchess wore these light brown suede heels throughout summer 2019 and was spotted in the pair at least four times.

8. L.K. Bennett Espadrilles

Long before taking on duchess duty, Kate wore these red espadrille wedges with a flower detail for a polo match in 2006. The pretty sandals perfectly matched her red halter polka dot dress.
