The Duchess of Cambridge’s style has evolved over the years. Once upon a time in a kingdom far far away — Duchess Kate was another mere mortal who loved pairing denim skirts with black tights, pattern dresses with leggings and worn out Uggs with nearly every jean in her closet. Times have changed — the Berkshire beauty has embraced her posh post and the corresponding conservative dress code of her royal rank. Today, Kate is inclined to wear sleek A-line dresses, modern midis and dark wash skinny jeans with chic combat boots and sustainable sneakers. And while we await Kate’s return following summer break — here are the looks we’d love to see on Her Royal Highness this fall.

In April 2017, Kate stepped out in this Marchesa Notte dress with lattice and rosette detailing — we’d love to see the Duchess try the flared dress trend but with bead embellishments and a mesh skirt with a fall-friendly velvet hem.

Kate wore this pretty Faithfull the Brand dress for an outing in 2018 — the pretty purple dress was the perfect choice for a visit to the Nook in Norfolk to help plant a sensory garden. Still, Kate’s retro look could use a modern makeover with a slinky silk dress with a botanical print.

One of Duchess Kate’s most iconic dresses — her Altuzzara black and white polka dot print dress was an instant sellout when she wore the style in 2016. While the gathered sleeve dress would still be a head turner today — the mom of three could opt for a similar ensemble with contemporary details like a ruched bodice.

Playing Princess, Kate stunned those at the BAFTA Awards in an ethereal one shoulder white chiffon gown by Alexander McQueen. The flawless red carpet fashion statement was one of Kate’s best evening gown moments — a modern retelling of the look could include a high low dress with a sparkling gold crystal waistband, metallic dot print and cascading ruffles.

No one could forget Kate’s navy Issa wrap dress worn at the photo call for her and Prince William’s engagement announcement. The pretty navy dress perfectly matched the bride’s sapphire engagement ring which once belonged to Princess Diana. A midi length dress with a keyhole neckline and flowy pleated skirt would be a modern approach to this romantic sartorial story.
