Every year Princess Kate attends Christmas Day church service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Norfolk. The 16th century England parish church is where the royal family attends Sunday and Christmas services.

The princess has been attending religious services with the family at the church in the port and market town of King’s Lynn, England for over a decade since joining the royal family.

In her early years of marriage the princess often gravitated toward skirt suits and midi coats for her Christmas styling but today prefers longline heavier maxi coats and will often rotate heels or boots. Underneath her classic coats, she wears light chiffon or thin sweater dresses. She sticks to classic and opulent jewelry including green and sapphire earrings and always wears a hat.

Since 2011, Princess Kate has worn a variety of memorable and iconic Christmas ensembles ranging from tartan dresscoats to faux fur trimmed midi coats.

Here is All of Kate Middleton’s Christmas Day Outfits Since Becoming a Royal:

2011, 2013, 2014, 2015

2011

Princess Kate’s first royal Christmas — the princess wore a berry colored coat in an aubergine purple. The plum topper was originally thought to be a strong shoulder crepe coat from Alexander McQueen but was later revealed to be private designer. Princess Kate paired the tailored coat with a Jane Corbett fedora cocktail hat in velvet with a distinctive moulded rim and upturned crown with a floral ribbon detail at the back. She finished the look with black platform pumps by Mascaro.

On December 25th in 2014 the princess was expecting a bouncing baby girl — Princess Charlotte — when she wore a brown Moloh Turpin tweed coat with specks of brown and cream along with flecks of orange for Christmas mass. Underneath the sophisticated stand collar coat she opted for a Hobbs Animal shirtdress in brown (similar). For accessories, she wore a Really Wild Silk Scarf in Autumn Partridge. She also donned Imogen chocolate brown wool bow gloves from Cornelia James. As for a hat, she opted for the Betty Boop brown pillbox hat from Lock and Company. 2016, 2017 and 2018

2016

In 2016 the family celebrated Christmas Day with the Middleton family in Buckleberry. For the occasion, the princess and little Charlotte had a matching ‘mommy and me’ moment in coordinating burgundy ensembles. Kate wore a chestnut brown ‘Celeste’ coat from Hobbs. The belted coat was accented with a faux fur stole from ASOS — the brand’s Faux Fur Slot Through Collar. Underneath the maroon-brown colored coat, she wore her Oasis black turtleneck dress. She finished the look with a suede Mulberry clutch bag in burgundy and Tod’s fringed pumps. While much of Princess Charlotte’s mini-me outfit remained unidentified, the young royal was clad in a thick burgundy cardigan from m&h as well as a tiny red bow from Amaia Kids. She also wore Condor ribbed red tights from Amaia for the holiday with her grandparents and other relatives.

2017

In 2017 the princess accompanied newly engaged couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the chilly Christmas walk. The princess looked like she stepped straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie in her noel-ready Miu Miu tartan coat. The luxurious double-breasted peacoat from the luxe Italian fashion house was trimmed with black velvet. Kate wore a hat that was confirmed by the brand to be the Peruvian Connection Vallnord Alpaca Fur Hat in black. For jewelry, she wore sparklers from Kiki McDonough — the Eden Diamond and Flower Drop Earrings. On her hands were black bow trimmed ‘Alice’ Merino wool gloves from Cornelia James. She repeated her Mulberry black slim Baystwater clutch and finished her yuletide ensemble with Tod’s block heel pumps.

2020/21

During the Covid pandemic, the princess and her royal relatives didn’t take part in the traditional walk to church or public walkabout.

2022

The Wales family charmed the Christmas crowds in 2022 while the princess recycled a military-minded Alexander McQueen coat. Underneath, she opted for her cost-conscious Mango ‘Flurry’ green ribbed midi sweater dress. In addition, she wore a striking Philip Treacy wide brim hat with a long feather. For accessories, she wore Sezane Dina earrings made of recycled brass with hanging precious stones in ocean blue. She completed the seasonal styling with her Gianvito Rossi brown block heel ‘Glen’ slouchy boots. To add a bit of interest, she carried her Stuart Weitzman muse clutch in chocolate brown (debuted in 2011 in Copenhagen, Denmark). She also demonstrated her eco-minded clothing credentials with ‘Evelyn’ brown leather gloves dating back to her first ever royal outing in Anglesey in 2011.
