The Princess of Wales recycled her beloved Zara houndstooth dress for a visit to South Wales today. She journeyed to Tŷ Hafan, a children’s hospice near Cardiff where she took part in activities like painting and music class. The emotional and poignant visit came with news that the princess was made patron of the charity which was also built and supported by the late Princess Diana.

Later in the day, the princess promoted Welsh manufacturing and business by visiting a family-run textiles company. Kate learned more about the process of sock making and  design at Corgi, a knitwear brand in Ammanford.

For the solo engagement, Kate continued her commitment to diplomatic dressing — her Zara dress features the Prince of Wales glen plaid pattern (a recognition of the region). In addition, she made a nod to South Wales with her choice of coat–a bespoke tailored long white coat by Chris Kerr (she previously wore the same coat to the area in February 2023). Plus, her hoop earrings are a design by Spells of Love Jewelry, a sustainable Welsh accessories brand.

To visit the hospice and sock maker, Kate wore her Chris Kerr cream colored longline coat. Defined by a single breasted front, the midi coat is accented with four covered buttons and simple flap pockets.

Kate also wore her Zara plaid printed dress with a belt. She’s previously worn the printed dress on three other occasions. It features a glen plaid print, bow neck tie and removable belt.

The princess previously donned the dress once in 2020, once in 2021 and once in 2023.

In addition, the princess stepped out in her Russell & Bromley 100 Point Blade Court Heel pumps in black.

She finished the look with hoops from Spells of Love — the Alia trapezoid gold hoops which are handcrafted from brass and coated with 18 karat gold.
