The Princess of Wales loves shopping the high street for casual fashion staples ranging from moto jeans to ruffled blouses to pleated skirts. Still, she’s most found of riffling through the racks in search of the perfect sweater. Drawn to cozy knits, roll neck jumpers and mockneck styles, the mom of three can’t resist a cozy cashmere pullover.
The Berkshire born beauty has been spotted in three J.Crew designs including a wool and yarn blend burgundy mockneck, Breton striped shirt with button detailing and a soft Italian cashmere long sleeve sweater in navy.
The navy crewneck was worn by Her Royal Highness for a family photo shoot for British GQ Magazine in May 2017; the comely princess was snapped by Norman Jean Roy enjoying the great outdoors with her husband and children including Princess Charlotte and Prince George. Playing, laughing and lounging in the grass, the Wales family were photographed for photos accompanying a a special interview with Prince William (he also appeared on the magazine’s cover).
Kate and company looked charming in their country-chic attire with the princess donning a semifitted long-sleeved sweater from American brand J.Crew.
Kate’s affordable and classic sweater in the shade midnight heather was recently given an upgrade by the brand who reissued their cashmere classic knit crewneck with a more relaxed fit as well as finer and softer fibers. Featuring the older rib trim at the neck and now cuffs, the new version of the pullover is designed with the same aesthetic but with upgraded fabrics.
In addition, to a new sweater design, the company has also further dedicated themselves to environmentally friendly clothing production. The princess would love the brand’s mission to use sustainable cashmere (meeting the Good Cashmere Standard) and responsible manufacturing processes.
Not only did Kate wear the sweater for the family magazine portrait but she also appeared in the soft featherweight cashmere long sleeve sweater for a trip to visit Farms for City Children in Gloucestershire in early May 2017. She paired the heather navy long sleeve top from J.Crew with her Gap fitted gingham boyfriend shirt (first spotted at a winery in New Zealand in 2014 on tour). In addition, the princess wore her favorite parka from sustainable British outerwear label Troy London– the Pop Wax Parka in khaki green.
