Well known for her role as Rachel Zane on Suits, Meghan frequently donned cardigans and pencil skirts but one of her recurring fashion items was her pointed pumps. Favoring these leg lengthening and fiercely feminine shoes, Markle became devoted to the pointed-toe-heel and put them on repeat in her fashion rolodex.
For her splashy debut as Prince Harry’s fiance at the Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace Markle donned lace-up nude suede Aquazurra heels. Interestingly, Markle always had a preference for a pointy toe and regularly sported these stiletto-like skyscrapers for press junkets and media appearances.
Nowadays, Markle favors these pretty pumps–typically in a luxe and lush fabric like suede or velvet for all kinds of royal functions and official engagements. She recently wowed in burnt orange velvet Jimmy Choo shoes as well as sported a winning twinning pair with future in-law Kate Middleton as the ‘Fab Four’ sat for Commonwealth services. On this occasion, Middleton went for $600 Rupert Sanderson while Meghan opted for $635 Manolo Blahniks.
And who could forget her daring Alexander McQueen tuxedo look that she paired with another pair of Manolo pointy black pumps. Markle’s allegiance to these showstopping heels is not without its caveats as rarely are narrow heels comfortable. But the suffering required for wearing statement shoes is not lost on Markle who even in her now quiet Instagram asked “comfort or beauty?”
