Meghan Markle in Oscar de la Renta for a Family Wedding

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made an unexpected but wholly delightful appearance together in Lincolnshire for the wedding of Princess Diana’s niece exactly one month after their own royal wedding. The newlyweds were celebrating the nupitals of Celia McCorquodale and George Woodhouse at St. Andrew and St. Mary’s Church in Stoke Rochford on Saturday.

Celia, the bride, opted to pay homage to her aunt by wearing the same tiara the late Princess Diana wore on her wedding day. The Spencer tiara was also a rumored choice for Meghan’s wedding day headpiece but the bride instead opted for the glittery Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau which came straight from the royal family jewelry vault.

Meghan opted to wear Oscar de la Renta on this June day. The newlywed went for the flowy white and blue maxi style dress featuring a wrap silhouette, a ruffled high/low hemline and a cinched waistline. The dress is from the Oscar de la Renta Resort 2019 Collection and is very modern in its construction and style. The feminine print celebrates summer garden party style with florals, billowy sleeves, an asymmetric ruffle hem. Meghan also wore a matching white fascinator, clutch and her bespoke white Aquazzura wedding shoes (with thanks to Meghan’s Mirror for ID). Meghan has long celebrated Aquazzura and frequently wears their distinctive pumps and heels.

While some had mixed feelings about the dress, we love the romantic ruffles, fun and decadent floral pattern and the wrap style maxi dress which is versatile for a variety of different functions and can be dressed up or down. A wrap style dress works for casual functions and more formal affairs. It even can be office appropriate depending on the styling. The ornate pattern of the dress also lends itself to outdoor celebrations as its whimsical and lively pattern is perfect for warm weather.
