The Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge have more than a few things in common and while they may have been born on different continents–they share many of the same beauty and cosmetic favorites. One thing both women love is the sweet smell of a floral or citrus perfume. And they even share love for the same London based perfumer!
Here are Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s Favorite Perfumes:
1. White Gardenia Bride
The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly chose Illuminum London for her wedding day. Kate opted for the spring fresh scent of White Gardenia Petals for her April nuptials. Having pre-planned her day in meticulous detail, the duchess reportedly went for the lily, jasmine and gardenia scent by a small British brand to complement and not compete with her wedding bouquet made of lily of the valley. The earthy scent was described in Marie Claire as, “fragrant as a vase of white flowers quivering in the breeze by an open window.” The spritz also contains notes of coconut, ylang ylang, jasmine, and Amber wood, to elicit a light bouquet smell.
2. Sand Dune Duchess
The Duchess of Cambridge is partial to flowery fresh scents and loves the warm summery fragrance of Dior Dune. Reportedly a favorite of the duchess for years, this lily, bergamot, vanilla and sandalwood spiked fragrance is likely perfect for days of dull and dreary British weather as the sunny spritz is bound to bring the cheer. Plus, the scent reportedly goes the distance with 6-10 hours of wear. In addition, Dune combines amber and wallflower with the watery notes of sweet, cool sea air to create a great daytime fragrance reminiscent of a walk on the beach.
4. Malone Mama
The Duchess of Sussex told the Express that “fragrance is my favorite thing” and noted that she loved switching up her scents and was especially partial to those by Jo Malone. Meghan said, “I alternate between a few scents. I love Oribe Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum and both the Wild Bluebell and Wood Sage & Sea Salt Colognes by Jo Malone.” Interestingly, Kate Middleton’s signature fragrance also appears to be by London based perfumer Jo Malone who loves the “shimmering garden oasis” scent of Orange Blossom.
