Many pictures have emerged as the Duchess of Cambridge prepared for her Chelsea Flower Show debut. The duchess is keen to work on mental health initiatives for youngsters and is passionate about the importance of outdoor play on childhood development. Kate spent months preparing her ‘woodland’ retreat which included a rope swing, babbling brook and lots of forget-me-not flowers in tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a floral & Other Stories dress plus a pair of Castaner ’80’ wedges to show her family the garden oasis. Kate also wore Polly petal drop earrings (ID RegalReplikate).

For the garden preview day, Kate opted for some casual culotte trousers and an eyelet blouse. The pants by Massimo Dutti are a fun change for the duchess who often is dressed in maxi styles and dress coats.

For more casual charm, Kate selected a scallop trim and puff sleeve ‘Mabel’ top by M.i.h Jeans and added her Superga Cotu white sneakers which she has worn for years. The duchess also wore her gold plated green onyx earrings by Monica Vinader. Perhaps, the best moment of the outing was when Kate willingly grabbed a sticky marshmallow off a branch and ate the sweet treat despite likely not wanting to make a mess of her clothes or hair!

Kate finished the day by showing off her gardening skills to the Queen. Described by one royal reporter as “endearingly nervous,” the duchess was quick to stick a branch from the garden in her purse so as not to have Her Majesty trip or be bothered by the stray foliage. And it paid off as the Queen remarked how the woodsy area was especially “tidy.” For showing off her ‘Back to Nature’ exhibit, the duchess opted for a flroal Erdem dress called the ‘Shebah’. She added her Cassandra Goad pearl stud earrings and Castaner Carina wedges in brown suede.
