In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force, the Duchess of Sussex wore a haute couture silk and wool blend satin dress by Dior. The 1950’s style fit and flare silhouette was was immediately compared to an Audrey Hepburn style for its tailoring and full skirt. The duchess is making the bateau neckline a signature as she also wore the same style in her Givenchy wedding dress by Clare Waight Keller. The long sleeve dress looked appropriate and sophisticated for the Westminster Abbey church service and flypast on the Buckingham Palace balcony. The fitted waist accentuated a matching black belt and the knee-length skirt was very ladylike and had a wholly retro aesthetic. The duchess added a Stephen Jones hat and carried a Dior Blue Satin Bee evening clutch (another bespoke creation). The bag was part of the Dior Autumn accessories collection and was emblazoned with a rhinestone bee that was removed from the duchess’s custom handbag.

The Duchess looked elegant and polished in a Dior fit and flare dress in a black shade which appeared to be navy when photographed. The haute couture dress was designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri. The Duchess carried a top handle bespoke handbag by Dior and wore Dior Armour pumps in ivory.
