The Princess of Wales loves a chic chain crossbody bag or slim chained wallet. Often gravitating toward front flap styles with interesting lock closures and sturdy top handles, Kate frequently finds herself on royal duty carrying crossbody purses by hand.

Before marrying into the royal family, Kate often wore her Mulberry, Tods and Prada handbags slung on her shoulder. But now as a a member of the monarchy she follows the example of her Princess predecessors like Diana, and often carries petite clutches sans chains.

Still, it’s only been in recent years that Kate has shunned the clutch in favor of a sling bag worn on the shoulder. She recently wore her Mulberry Harlow blue satchel by the chain atop her shoulder at the Royal Charity Polo Cup in July 2023 and donned a new Chanel mini flap bag as a shoulder bag at the Rugby World Cup match in October 2023. In addition, the mom of three carried her Emmy London Natasha by the metal strap for Wimbledon in July 2023.

Previously, she was only once spotted in a classic crossbody across the shoulder to her hip at the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day in July 2019 in Wokingham, England and wearing her Smythson Ludlow as a crossbody for a day of shopping at Waterstones.
