The Princess of Wales has a closet overflowing with glamorous gowns, trendy top handle bags and plenty of pearls. And though she frequently repeats her beloved fashion favorites — there are those versatile and time resistant closet pieces that she can’t stop wearing.

From bags to baubles to coat dresses and couture ballgowns — which of Princess Kate’s sartorial heroes does she wear the most?

Most Worn Day Coat: Day Birger et Mikkelsen

Kate has worn this gold brocade coat with a paisley trim on five occasions including for a garden party in Northern Ireland and a reception at the Olympic stadium. The chic champagne topper pairs perfectly with her lace Collette Dinnigan dress which she’s worn since her pre-marriage days.

Most Worn Day Dress: Zara Azure Blue Pleated Dress

Known as the “honeymoon dress” this pleated knee-length style is made of soft chiffon fabric and is constructed of 100% polyester. (Kate first appeared in the casual frock the day after marrying royal dreamboat Prince William.) The budget-minded sleeveless dress can be belted for a cinched waist and boasts a flattering scoop neckline. Worn on five occasions over the years, Kate frequently pairs the casual dress with her Missoni Lurex tweed boucle coat in blue (which coincidentally she’s worn nearly as much — on four royal engagements).

Most Worn Hat: Lock & Co Hatters Betty Boop Hat in Brown

While the princess often wears new styles for dressy occasions and ceremonial events, she does now and then repeat a favorite fascinator. While some might assume one of her berets, saucer hats, fedoras or wide brim styles have been worn most frequently, Kate’s felt pillbox hat is actually her most worn with seven total appearances. She’s donned the boxy brown hat for Christmas 2014, St. Patrick’s Day in 2012 and 2015 and Easter services in 2018.

Most Worn Ballgown: Jenny Packham Ink Silk Tulle Gown

This floor grazing evening dress hailing from Packham’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection is one of Kate’s most recycled ballgowns. Since the princess often wears new glittery gowns and freshly designed bespoke couture for special occasions, the fact that this dress has been seen three times is something of a rarity. The moody midnight dress features a deep V-neckline, gathered short sleeves, black velvet sash and full inky blue tulle skirt.

Most Worn Handbag: L.K. Bennett Nina Clutch in Trench Leather

Kate first wore this bag in the spring of 2016 and hasn’t stopped carrying it since. The diminutive neutral box clutch is the perfect size for hand holding for long garden parties and marathon overseas engagements. Perfect for pairing with nude court shoes and springtime styles, the princess has carried this goldtone frame clutch on 16 occasions.

Most Worn Blazer: Smythe Duchess Wool Blazer in Navy

This wool blazer named in honor of the princess has appeared on Her Royal Highness on over a dozen occasions. Smart, sleek and sophisticated, this boardroom-ready jacket is the definition of stylish suiting.

Most Worn Belt: Anderson’s Croc Effect Black Belt

Expertly crafted at a workshop in Italy, this shiny belt is designed by artisans who undertake 100 steps to complete crafting the waist cinching accessory. With a gleaming gold buckle and patent like finish, this belt has become a fixture in Kate’s changemaker closet. The princess has worn the belt on 11 occasions thus far.

Most Worn Gloves: Cornelia James Imogen Merino Wool Gloves in Black

These wrist length gloves are accented with a delicate and dainty black bow at the cuff, are perfect for wintery royal outings. Kate frequently wears the gloves for Remembrance Day and trips to Scotland. The future queen has been spotted in the merino wool gloves on 13 total occasions.

Most Worn Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Folding Wayfarer Sunglasses

To protect her pretty peepers, Kate relies on these classic, compact and fashionable folding sunnies. Partial to the tortoise frame style with brown lenses, she’s been spotted rocking these shades on 16 occasions.

Most Worn Earrings: Annoushka Baroque Pearl Drops and Kiki Diamond Hoop Earrings

Worn on over 70 occasions, these classic pearl earrings are given extra razzle dazzle with a modern studded gold hoop. Kate prefers playing mixmaster with her accessories and sometimes even wears the yellow gold and diamond hoops with their original pair: her oval green amethyst drop earrings.

Most Worn Necklace: Mappin & Webb Empress White Gold and Diamond Necklace

The princess has most frequently (nearly 20 times) stepped out in her Mappin & Webb Empress necklace for royal duty (she’s also worn the brand’s Fortune pendant necklace on over a dozen occasions). The royal beauty loves the diamond mid-length necklace for pairing with a variety of outfits including coat dresses, trouser suits and pullover sweaters.

Most Worn Shoes: Gianvito Rossi 105 Pumps in Praline Suede

A perennial princess favorite, Kate has worn these handcrafted Italian pumps with a sleek pointed toe and slim heel on over 25 occasions. She frequently pairs the classic shoes with structured sheaths, fit and flare dresses and slim-cut skirt suits.

Most Worn Top: Tie Ralph Lauren Nadalia and Holland Cooper Shirt Bodysuit

The princess loves her simple and classic undershirts and often wears her ribbed Ralph Lauren white puff sleeve top with Zara blazers. She’s also partial to her HC bodysuit and frequently wears the sleek and slimming bodysuit blouse with tailored pantsuits. She’s worn both shirts on seven occasions each.

Most Worn Pants: Jigsaw High Waisted Sport Luxe Trousers

Though in recent years the princess has become a super fan of cropped cigarette trousers, she’s still enamored with these budget minded wide leg navy slacks which she pairs with everything from sweaters to turtlenecks to bow blouses. The puddle pants are perfect for business engagements and museum visits.
