When the Princess of Wales observes Remembrance Sunday from her balcony perch high above the Cenotaph monument in Whitehall in Central London every November, she typically wears black ensembles dedicated to honoring armed forces members who have suffered or died in combat.

Frequently the princess makes many symbolic statements with her clothing and accessories. She most often wears her most treasured heirloom jewelry — almost always pearl studs or delicate drops.

She’s worn a few pairs more than others — often rotating the following earrings for multiple Remembrance occasions.

Here are the Special Earrings Kate Middleton Always Wears on Remembrance Sunday:

The mother of three often wears Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings to honor fallen soldiers each winter.

In fact, she debuted Queen Elizabeth’s pearl pendant earrings for the first time on Remembrance Sunday in November 2016. The dazzling earrings each contain one large round diamond paired with four smaller ones, three baguette diamonds, and a Bahrain pearl dangling from the base.

Kate has worn the earrings on four Remembrance occasions.

The princess relies on her Collingwood Diamond and Pearl Drop earrings for special and somber occasions.

Inherited from Princess Diana’s collection, Kate received the pear shaped pearl earrings as a gift from Prince William after they wed. Delicate and dainty, the earrings feature two bezel stud diamonds with lustrous pearls hanging from glittery diamond encrusted mounts.

Wearing these earrings to honor the memory of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, the future Queen relies on the exquisite and stunning South Sea Pearl earrings for sentimental and important occasions.

Also donned for King Charles’ coronation, the earrings frequently appeared on Princess Diana for glamorous galas and parties during the 1990s.

The antique pearl earrings feature an openwork circular design of a curved row of diamonds with a hanging pearl drop. Kate replaced Diana’s large swinging pearl for a smaller and more petite pearl.

A recent addition to her growing collection of pearl accessories, these statement studs have a rich royal history. The large mabe pearl earrings are part of a demi-parure owned by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The princess has already sported the matching brooch which was worn by the Queen in 1999. She has appeared in the leaf brooch, featuring a trio of pearls, on three occasions since 2017. Thus, it’s possible she’s had the earrings in her collection for some time.

Thus far, Princess Kate has worn the large stud earrings on just one occasion to Remembrance Sunday services early on the morning of Sunday November 12th, 2023.

The Princess has also worn Oscar de la Renta Pearl Sun Button earrings and her Annoushka Pearl and Kiki Diamond hoops for Remembrance events as well as her sapphire oval drop earrings.
