The Princess of Wales did a bit of diplomatic dressing opting for a bespoke burgundy Alexander McQueen coat to greet dignitaries at a Ceremonial Welcome for the Emir of Qatar at Horse Guards Parade in London (the colors of the Qatar flag are maroon and white). The Emir of Qatar and his wife are in the UK for a two-day state visit hosted by King Charles.
For the royal welcome of Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and his wife Sheikha Jawaher, the princess opted for a vintage Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen long burgundy coat similar to the designer’s asymmetric topcoats.
She paired the coat with her Sahar Millinery Teardrop Beret hat in burgundy. The made-to-order headpiece is designed in velour felt and features a stylized felt bow trim. Previously, Kate wore the fascinator at St. Davids Cathedral in Wales in September 2023.
The princess also wore some of her favorite heirloom accessories including the Queen’s Bahrain pearl drop earrings. Similar HERE
For a necklace, she donned the late Queen’s Elizabeth’s four row Japanese pearl choker (similar). Constructed of four rows of cultured pearls, the elegant accessory has a large central diamond clasp. Princess Diana also previously wore the statement necklace.
The princess carried her Chanel Burgundy Calfskin Boy Flap bag with a decorative enamel handle. Timeless and sophisticated, the $4200 bag features the brand’s iconic interlocking CC logo and a brass and burgundy top handle.
For the visit, the princess debuted new leather boots from Gianvito Rossi — the past season Rhymes pointed toe boots. The knee-high boots feature a block square heel and leather lining plus visible stitching. The Rhymes boots offer 3.5 inches in height. Similar boot style from Amazon available HERE
In addition, Kate is believed to have possibly worn the Cornelia James touchscreen Emelie burgundy gloves. The classic leather gloves are lined in silk.
Later, the Prince and Princess were photographed at the Picture Gallery in Buckingham Palace viewing items from the Royal Collection Trust along with King Charles and Queen Camilla as well as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Emir and Sheikha of Qatar.
The couple viewed displays of Qatari items from the Royal Collection and Turquoise Mountain.
For the viewing, the princess rewore her earlier jewelry and removed her outerwear to reveal her burgundy Eponine London Midi coat. Crafted from double wool crepe and lined in soft silk satin, the princess has previously donned the topper for her Christmas carol concert in 2022 and a visit to Wales in September 2023.
She paired the dresscoat with her Gianvito Rossi 105 Royale burgundy suede pumps. Similar from Amazon HERE
She also wore Princess Diana’s three-strand pearl bracelet.
