The Princess of Wales is celebrated for envy-inducing collection of beautiful baubles, glamorous gems and striking statement jewelry.

Not inclined to wear lots of oversized jewels or to flaunt her royal cache of priceless pieces, the princess often prefers to don diminutive and delicate diamonds or simple gold accessories for her regular rotation of royal engagements.

Preferring smaller and simpler  jewelry has become standard practice for the future Queen who recently downgraded her colossal Garrad sapphire and diamond engagement ring (estimated value around $500,000) for a less extravagant Étincelle de Cartier wedding band in platinum (value of $8,500).

Still, the Wales matriarch does occasionally splurge on striking statement earrings. Not one to wear multi-strand diamond necklaces or tiaras frequently, the brunette beauty still can’t resist a substantial and sturdy pair of ear adornments.
