The Princess of Wales owns countless clutches and slim handbags but her most luxurious designs come courtesy of English accessories maker Anya Hindmarch.

Known for her quirky lifestyle goods and accessories, the London based designer is beloved for her kitschy and unique handbags.

Often colorful with decorative elements and nods to pop culture (like breakfast cereal tribute bags, Perrier cans and pencil case motif designs), Hindmarch creates themed styles along with whimsical and wild bags and keychains perfect for business or play.

A longtime fan, Princess Kate has been carrying clutches from the label since the beginning of her royal career; she stepped out one month after her wedding to meet with the Obamas holding an Anya Hindmarch Maud black satin clutch. The classic handheld bag featured a personalized cursive ‘C’ (for Catherine) on the front.

Since then, Kate has carried various Hindmarch clutches by hand. Recently, she stepped out in Wimbledon with a new chalk colored woven leather ‘basket’ bag called the Neeson. Crafted from handwoven shiny capra leather, the tote bag featured Hindmarch’s signature creativity and craftsmanship.

Likely taking sartorial inspiration from her predecessor Princess Diana, who was fond of Hindmarch’s satin and envelope clutches (which she used for making evening dresses into more modest styles — nicknamed her “cleavage bags” by media outlets), Kate continues to rely on Hindmarch’s bespoke creations to round out her handbag collection.
