Whether or not the Prince and Princess of Wales will attend this year’s Easter church service along with the rest of the royal family is still to be determined. As Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have officially started their spring break term from Lambrook school — which runs until April 22nd — it’s not clear whether the Wales will pause their vacation time to join the royals at St. George’s Chapel this year for the traditional mass.
Still, it’s always fun to reminisce about the princess’ Easter ensembles and her loveliest looks on the special holiday.
Updated: According to multiple news outlets, Kate and William are confirmed to be attending Easter services with King Charles and the royal family this year. The attendance of the Wales children is still unconfirmed.
2014
The princess was on a royal tour of Australia alongside her husband and eldest son and newborn Prince George when she attended mass in Sydney wearing a pale grey-blue funnel neck coat by Alexander McQueen. The sharp and sophisticated coat was perfect for the warm occasion Down Under.
2017
Looking charming and regal in her cream colored Catherine Walker coat, Kate exuded Jackie O vibes in her neutral ensemble accented with a pillbox hat from Lock & Co and a pair of pearl earrings from Queen Elizabeth’s private collection.
2018
Opting for an entirely new color palette and forgoing her usual pastels and soft muted colors, the princess was expecting her third child Prince Louis when she appeared at church in 2018. Showcasing her blossoming baby bump underneath a dark chocolate brown coat by Catherine Walker (which she originally wore back in 2015), the princess was fashion-forward in her inspired spring ensemble. (Perhaps Kate’s dark brown outfit was an ode to chocolate bunnies and easter egg candy?)
2019
Practicing the art of the royal recycle, Kate rewore her minimalist outfit (from her trip to Oz in 2014) to St. George’s at Windsor Castle. She accented the coat with grey Emmy London pumps and a matching suede clutch.
2022
Embracing a cheery Easter-egg hue, Kate opted for a powder blue bespoke Emilia Wickstead dressocat for Sunday service on April 17th 2022 in Windsor. The beautiful day coat perfectly coordinated with daughter Princess Charlotte’s blue and white floral dress.
2023
The princess pivoted away from soft shades and pretty pastels and opted for an electric cobalt Catherine Walker coat for Easter circa 2023. The striking coat felt modern, fun and fresh. Plus, the look was in sync with the rest of the Wales family who wore various blue shades including navy suits (for George), cerulean shorts (for Louis) and sky-colored stockings (for Charlotte).
