Looking like a masterclass in royal glamour, the Princess of Wales did her best diplomatic dressing for the Nigeria State Banquet on March 18th hosted by King Charles. The occasion marks the first white-tie event in the 2026 royal calendar.
Clad in a flowing Andrew Gn pleated silk gown in emerald green, the princess was radiant as strode into the formal dinner at St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle alongside husband Prince William.
The princess’ new dress has all the hallmarks of her standard style — flowing, airy and romantic. Kate’s dress features billowy flare sleeves which elevates the whimsical flair of the long gown crafted from a lightweight chiffon. The dress also boasts puff sleeves, a high neck, fluid pleating and a belted waist (the princess swapped the decorative belt for a tonal band).
Kate paired the striking emerald dress (a tribute to the Nigerian flag and representing the greenery and agriculture of the country) with the Queen Mother’s Sapphire and Diamond Fringe earrings.
She carried her Jenny Packham boxed ‘Casa’ clutch — the solid frame clutch boasts a crystal encrusted clasp. Similar
The princess also wore the Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara. A beautiful diadem, the swinging white pearls capture the color of white — the central band seen in the Nigerian flag.
The mother of three also wore her royal regalia including the Royal Victorian Order Maltese Cross and the Royal Family Order of King Charles III.
She finished the elegant formalwear look with her Manolo Blahnik ‘Hangisi’ 105 Satin Pumps in Jade.
As an aside, Queen Rania of Jordan wore a very similar Andrew Gn floor-length purple silk evening gown to host Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman in honor of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden in November 2022.
