While Meghan Markle has only been a bonafide royal family member for four months, during that time she’s covered a lot of fashion ground. From developing a signature style (hello boatnecks) to finding the perfect pumps (Aquazzura, natch), Meghan’s style has truly blossomed. Not one to shy away from trends (see: colorblocking and straw bags), Meghan has stayed true to her style aesthetic (blazer dresses on repeat) and has shunned many of the so-called royal rules for dressing (pass on the pantyhose).
Now that she has a duchess wardrobe dialed in–we thought we would take a look at her 7 Best Style Moments Since Joining the Royal Family:
1. A Shot of Sunshine
The Duchess of Sussex looked particularly chic in citrus for a Commonwealth Youth Reception. The bold statement sheath was sleek and elegant while the pop of color made the duchess look radiant. The Brandon Maxwell dress received high praise from the fashion elite.
2. Brilliant in Black
Meghan appeared every inch the modern royal at a cocktail party in Dublin, where she rocked a black square neckline midi dress by Emilia Wickstead. The belted dress was vaguely reminiscent of a formfitting style she wore for her Reitmans clothing campaign but a little more demure.
3. Green Goddess
Perhaps her most Rachel Zane look to date, Meghan’s dark green Givenchy pencil skirt and short sleeve sweater look for her first day in Dublin with Prince Harry was a proud moment for Suits fans. This polished and professional attire gave Meghan a truly regal air and the forrest green separates could not have been more flattering.
4. Dashing in Denim
The Duchess of Sussex made sure to bring her B-game (B is for Belt) to the Sentebale Polo Cup match with Prince Harry. Meghan selected a Carolina Herrera midi denim dress with a chunky belt and pockets to watch the prince play polo for charity. The figure flattering and summery ensemble made daytime denim look trendy and timeless.
5. Pantsuit Princess
While some royal watchers claim to be a tad tired of Meghan’s penchant for black, blazers and pantsuits, the duchess pays no mind to the noise. In fact, she continues to gravitate toward professional looks for royal engagements and loves an office-friendly and comfortable pair of pants. Meghan likely prefers these blend-in black styles as it puts more focus on the event at hand and allows her to bend down to interact with children without risking a wardrobe malfunction.
6. Dazzling in Dior
Meghan looked Fair Lady fashionable at Royal Ascot with her dapper Prince Harry. The white Givenchy shirtdress with subtle embroidery was classic and charming. The asymmetric hemline and flowy skirt added a bit of romance to the grown-up garb.
7. An Eye-Popping Engagement Dress
Though Meghan did wear this dress technically pre-royal life, it was without a doubt one of her most high fashion and dramatic dress moments. The embellished Ralph and Russo illusion dress with layers of black tulle on a silk organza skirt and a sheer bodice with gold feather embroidery was an engagement dress to remember.
