Glass slippers are so yesterday. Meghan Markle wants girls the world over to channel their inner ‘Wonder Woman’ with clothes that act as a “metaphorical and literal cape.” Undoubtedly Meghan’s new clothing line in partnership with John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Jigsaw and Misha Nonoo will be a way for women to level up their real life work wardrobe and conquer the corporate ladder. Meghan’s latest venture will bring new clothing options into the hands of the women at Smart Works who are seeking employment and career training. The capsule collection which will be released later this year will surely fly off shelves #meghaneffect. Still, with the duchess at the helm of this sartorial ship–there’s bound to be a bit of Meghan’s own clothing aesthetic in the garments. And if that’s the case, we’d love to see a bit of Meghan’s best style statements reflected in the new designs.

Here are 6 of Meghan Markle’s Chicest Outfits to Inspire Her New Clothing Collection:

  1. Sustainable Sheath

Meghan’s angelic column dress hit all the right notes in Sydney especially when paired with her tough girl Martin Grant trench. The ‘Blessed’ dress by Karen Gee was not only uber-flattering on the duchess but it showcased her adoration for Australian designers and ethical clothing brands. It would be lovely for Meghan to incorporate a few monochromatic dresses into her charity collection as they can’t be beat for versatility and transition beautifully from day to night.

2. Club Cool Girl

Cooler temperatures didn’t stop the duchess from looking on trend in a burgundy Club Monaco dress and some Givenchy booties for a Hubb Community Kitchen visit. The mini dress with a velvet collar was not only a piece for seasons to come but it looked youthful and still professional when paired with tights.

3. Turtlenecks and Tiaras

Meghan will not do her clothing line justice if she doesn’t include some of her wardrobe staples like a classic turtleneck, suede boots (hers by Kurt Geiger) and a voluminous midi skirt that pairs so effortlessly with closet staples like sweaters and fitted tops. A simple belt and minimal jewelry keeps this look firmly in girl boss territory.

4. Sussex Smolder

Fashionistas are crying: Give us all the pants Meghan! We need pants! Indeed, modern career girl fashions often include the same old black dress pants that are dull and dreary. Please Meghan do us a style solid and give us some flared pants, pants with buttons, pants that give us the fresh feels. Thanks, Yours Truly, Perennially Pantsless

5. Pop Royalty

She may be only a duchess but she is the Queen of the shirtdress. Meghan looks polished and pretty in a pop of bright blue. Here’s hoping this fashion trailblazer makes a classic shirtdress (still available in red) a part of her upcoming clothing collab.

6. Smokin’ Style

Meghan’s cigarette pants gave fashion bloggers content for a series of puff pieces. The Givenchy pantsuit look was classic and chic. Now, if only Meghan can create a similar style for her new line, we’d all be grateful.
