Kate Middleton was spotted shopping for military and history themed books after a whirlwind trip to Ireland and a successful 3-day tour with husband Prince William. Opting for a casual and comfortable daytime ensemble, the rare sighting was a delight for fans interested in the Cambridge matriarch’s ‘dressed down duchess’ apparel. For the excursion, the busy Duchess of Cambridge wore some old favorites and new pieces from her palace wardrobe.
Similar to sister-in-law Meghan, Kate opted for a palette of blue basics with emphasis on her Mulberry Paddington coat. The chic topper has been in royal rotation for a number of years and the pale blue coat is always a win.
The duchess has worn the powder blue style since as far back as 2016 and was spotted wearing it for a private helicopter ride.
The Paddington coat is designed in a sky-blue hue which is perfect for wintertime. Classically tailored, this slightly loose style has been cut in Italy from a luxurious wool-blend with a tactile touch of mohair. A similar style is available HERE
In addition, Kate opted for her new favorite sweater from John Lewis — the Pure Collection Roll Neck Cashmere Sweater. The casual turtleneck in cornflower blue is the perfect jumper for throwing on to run quick shopping trips.
For a handbag, Kate carried a new Ludlow Concertina Crossbody bag. The sleek bag is compact and functional—and each crossbody features a chain and leather strap, two internal pockets and plenty of space to fit even the largest mobile phones. The black bag is crafted from soft large grained leather with smooth calf leather details.
And for footwear, the duchess decided on Russell & Bromley Snaffle Loafers.
One social media user noticed Duchess Kate was not wearing her sapphire engagement ring for the daytime errands. For security purposes, Kate likely keeps the ring at home.
