Besides her glamorous gowns, the Princess of Wales is best known for her chic coat collection. From wool wrap ‘commuter’ coats perfect for traveling by train or helicopter to royal engagements to thick tweed toppers and tawny trenches, the mom of three has a large selection of outerwear ready for royal duty.

The princess keeps growing her stockpile of cozy camel, rich brown and dark burgundy coats in order to be prepared for the changing seasons and the arrival of autumn.

Here are 10 of Kate Middleton’s Favorite Fall Coats:

  1. Max & Co Longrun Wool Coat in Camel

Eschewing buttons in favor of a relaxed tie fastening, this wool topper has been a favorite of the princess in recent years — making two appearances in 2022 and once in February 2023. Crafted in wool, the Long Run coat is made with structured shoulders, patch pockets, notched lapels and a tonal tie belt.

2. Hobbs Celeste Coat in Chestnut Brown

The deep chestnut wool coat features a studded belt at the waist and cuffs; the jacket has been a favorite of the royal for fall engagements and holiday functions. The princess has modified the double crepe coat over the years to attune to her engagements as well as the weather. Kate has worn the coat  — with a bright red scarf and faux fur stole for church and in February 2023 altered the coat to have a longer length. She has even swapped out the studded wrist and waist belts for buckled leather.
