Though the Princess of Wales owns many special and sentimental pieces of nameplate jewelry, alphabet accessories and stamped birthdate jewelry, the British beauty also has a growing collection of monogrammed clothing and bags.

Since the royal family is bound to use special crests and cyphers to distinguish their titles and rank, the use of a monogram is not especially unusual for senior royals. Appearing on official documents, correspondence and even letter boxes or government buildings, the cypher is an important part of royal history and heritage.

Many times a monarch will have an emblem with their interlocking capital initials accented with a crown. So, it’s no great surprise that Princess Kate is drawn to the monogram motif to personalize her property.

Here are 5 of Kate Middleton’s Favorie Monogrammed Clothing and Accessories:

1. Little Makes Big Tote

An ideal bag for mom essentials and necessities like snacks, toys and wet wipes, this classic navy canvas tote with tan leather straps has appeared on both the Princess of Wales and her younger sister Pippa Middleton. Kate’s sibling even carried the bag on a private trip to St. Bart’s on a post-holiday vacation in January 2016.

2. C Initial Gold Charm Bracelet

A wedding gift from Queen Camilla, this gold bracelet features a capital cursive C on a hanging pendant suspended from a cable link design. Imprinted with Kate’s official cypher as well as a crown (ducal coronet) above it, this is a special and prized piece in Kate’s jewelry box.

Interestingly, Kate’s stepmother-in-law also has her monogram engraved on the design. Camilla’s official cypher and capital C is featured on the underside of the hanging disc in a circle. Believed to be closed with a toggle clasp, Kate has worn the Cambridge-Cornwall charm bracelet on a few occasions including for a visit to the Irish Guards, a trip to Santa Barbara and a Wimbledon tournament all in 2011 (the year William and Kate married). A classic hinged clutch bag in black satin, Kate frequently carried this evening bag in 2011 and 2012. The princess has made the small coin purse clutch her bag of choice on 11 occasions since joining the royal family.

Embroidered with her first initial in cursive scroll, this small clutch with satin-effect fabric and a clasp closure is perfect for evening essentials. Kate was so enamored with the petite ladylike cocktail clutch (frequently toted by Princess Diana during her royal years) that she also acquired the bag in ivory satin.
