The Duchess of Sussex has started off the new year with a major move — she’s rejoined Instagram after a five year hiatus.
While her home lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard has its own brand page, the new @meghan account will be the duchess’ personal profile to share happenings in her professional and personal pursuits while residing in California.
Though the account user joined in June 2022, Meghan had delayed the official launch until now — January 2025.
The account boasts a similar headshot as Meghan’s former page before marrying into the royal family — with the duchess clad in a white sleeveless top (dress) and sporting wavy loose beach curls. Previously, Meghan’s Suits-era Instagram account ‘Meghan Markle’ was followed by 3 million users.
For the duchess’ first post on the platform, she was seen running at the beach by the ocean in a video filmed by Prince Harry.
The mom of two writes in the sand ‘2025’ in cursive lettering near the waves on the sandy shore.
For the outdoor outing, Meghan wore a long oversized open button down shirt and ivory jeans — believed to possibly be her Frame Le Skinny De Jeanne crop jeans in blanc with rolled up legs (similar HERE).
The @megahn account rapidly grew in thousands of followers and jumped from 164,000 to 237,00 within minutes and is expected to reach half a million followers quickly. Meghan’s first teaser video post was shared across multiple fan and media accounts and was re-shared by various news publications including Hello! and People Magazine.
