The Prince and Princess of Wales opted to forgo the BAFTA Awards this year for a private family vacation to Mustique.

According to an exclusive report in the Daily Mail, the family of five flew together on business class with British Airways. The heir to the throne his wife and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis flew from London to Saint Lucia before taking a private jet to Mustique. {READ MORE ON KATE’S FAVORITE TRAVEL FASHION}
The Princess is believed to have possibly taken the trip with the Middleton family; the getaway vacation may have been a belated birthday celebration for Kate’s mother Carole Middleton (January 31).
Kate and her immediate family have been traveling to the private island in the Caribbean for many years. Acclaimed for its white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and coastal seabirds, the tropical paradise is been a favorite of the royal family for decades. William’s great aunt Princess Margaret in particular loved visiting the remote destination in the 1970s and took many trips to the private paradise (which occupies part of the islands of St Vincent and the Grenadine).
During their visit, the Wales family will likely stay at the Villa Antilles, a five-bedroom colonial style abode owned by Prince William’s friend Andrew Dunn. The vacation property boasts a 59 foot infinity pool, jacuzzi, private bar and professional-grade kitchen.
This is the second vacation this year for the family who took a break from royal duties and celebrated Princess Kate’s birthday on a ski vacation in the alps in January.
