A staple in the summer social calendar, Royal Ascot is the “see and be seen” event for the British royal family and high society.

Outfitted in dapper daywear and formal fashions, this historic event is popular for attracting exclusive crowds who dress in their finest British attire.

The summer celebration is steeped in tradition and century old customs — the racing spectacle reflects timeless royal heritage and cultural legacy.

The iconic event has been a mainstay on Princess Kate’s calendar since 2016 — she typically attends one day during the week long equestrian event.

Here’s Every Outfit Kate Middleton Has Worn to Royal Ascot:

2016 — Dolce and Gabbana Glam

Kate looked stunning at her first ever Ascot event in this white lace dress with a satin slip. Appearing ethereal in the designer midi, Kate echoed an Audrey Hepburn aesthetic from the film My Fair Lady.

The princess paired her feminine frock with a Jane Taylor disc fascinator with angular feathers and twisted ribbons.

She completed the look with a straw box clutch from L.K. Bennett and Gianvito praline pointed pumps.

2017 — Alexander McQueen Magic

In keeping with a bridal vibe, the princess once again rocked a lacy white dress for her second Royal Ascot. This time the royal beauty opted for a prim and proper Italian floral lace fit and flare dress with a ribbon waistband from the House of McQueen.

The future Queen accessorized with an ivory sinamay hat from an unknown milliner. In addition, Kate enhanced the racing spectator outfit with a lizard clutch from Loeffler Randall and classic court shoes i.e. praline pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

2019 — Elie Saab Showstopper

Dressed to impress, Kate floated on the grassy green turf of the regal racecourse in her light blue tulle blouse and matching skirt from the Lebanese designer Elie Saab.

Utterly stunning in the swiss dot style, Kate’s romantic dress was accented with a beautiful bow at the neckline of the icy sheer bodice blouse.

The princess paired the dreamy Disney two-piece with a molded slice hat complete with a rosette blossom from Philip Treacy. Gilded accessories including a metallic clutch from Elie Saab and shiny silver Rossi pumps completed the sophisticated style statement.

2022 — Alessandra Rich Radiance

On a sweltering day at the horse competition, Kate was captivating in allover polka print. The mom of three looked timeless in her brown spotted midi while appearing at Day Four of the famous equine race.

Riding in the first carriage alongside Prince William, Kate was glowing in her retro brown spotted ensemble complete with a ruffled overlay at the left shoulder. In keeping with the theme of the outfit, Kate added a brown Sally-Ann Provan Naeva boater hat trimmed with handmade silk duchesse origami flowers.

The princess finished the look with a chocolate brown foldover clutch and unidentified suede brown pumps.

2023 — Alexander McQueen Magnificence

Adopting the Queen’s style mantra of wearing bright and bold colors, Kate passed on floral print and dainty designs and instead opted for this scarlet style on the fourth day at the racing event in Berkshire.

Kate’s bright red race day dress boasted a pleated surplice neckline and full flowing skirt. Capturing a retro aesthetic, the designer dress looked splendid paired with a Philip Treacy saucer hat and Jennifer Chamandi lipstick-red pumps.

The princess accessorized the striking outfit with boho-minded gold plated Sezane Esmee earrings featuring dangling black beads. She also made a sustainable sartorial statement with a vintage Hermes Rio clutch.
