Today, the Princess of Wales welcomed President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at Windsor Castle at the start of the two-day U.S. state visit to the U.K. Looking regal and refined in a burgundy coatdress, the princess was in good spirits as she and husband Prince William greeted the presidential couple during the ceremonial welcome.
For the occasion, the princess donned a bespoke version of Emilia Wickstead’s Chaney coatdress in burgundy double crepe. The elegant tailored topper boasts a soft pleat detail which adds fluidity and movement while a tonal belt cinches the waist and creates a flattering silhouette.
Kate’s custom coat features the same double-breasted buttons with one row removed along with a wider waistband (sans belt) and the addition of peaked lapels.
The princess is fond of a burgundy coat and has worn similar designs over the years with a total of four lookalike styles occupying her royal closet.
The princess paired the formal coatdress with Jane Taylor London’s Neso fascinator. Striking and sophisticated, the cocktail hat boasts a teardrop base with a satin bow and veil netting.
To complete the look, the princess carried her beloved vintage Chanel Calfskin Boy Flap bag with a diagonal stitching detail and a gold art deco enamel handle.
In addition, the princess donned new brown Gianvito Rossi chocolate brown pumps.
For accessories, the princess wore her Prince of Wales feathers brooch pinned to her lapel.
The princess also wore unidentified ruby and diamond drop earrings which were seen during the 80th Anniversary of VE Day earlier this year.
