The Princess of Wales looked magnificent at the U.S. State banquet in a Phillipa Lepley Couture coat. To host the Trump family, the Wales along with the senior royals attended the glitzy dinner at Buckingham Palace.
Appearing beside husband Prince William in his white-tie attire, the mom of three was radiant in the elegant silk crepe evening gown paired with a striking Chantilly lace overcoat (similar) by British luxury wedding dress designer Phillipa Lepley.
Exuding Disney vibes, the floral-motif overcoat boasts hand-embroidered lace along with a high neck as well as gold cording and long sheer sleeves. The ‘Silver Darling Coat’ is a full-length regal, bridal coat that can be worn over a base dress for brides who desire two looks in one.
Dress Like a Duchess was the first media outlet to notice a striking similarity with the Queen’s fashion (shown on Instagram 9/17). The metallic dress bore a resemblance to the late Queen Elizabeth’s U.S. State banquet gold evening gown which she wore to host President Bush and his wife Laura Bush at Buckingham Palace in November 2003.
And while the princess’ illusion sleeve dress was mesmerizing, the most dazzling part of the ensemble was her Lover’s Knot Tiara. The princess has worn the Garrard & Co swinging pearl and diamond diadem on a dozen previous occasions.
Kate paired the glamorous headpiece with Queen Elizabeth’s diamond orbital pendant earrings.
For a bag, she carried her Anya Hindmarch Maud clutch with a pearl clasp in champagne satin.
To stay on theme, the princess opted for gilded footwear — she donned her gold Aquazzura Fenix 105 pumps featuring a pointed toe and side cut-outs.
And for royal regalia, the princess wore the sash, badge and breast star of the Royal Victorian Order, Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family Order of King Charles II.

The Wales also shared a behind the scenes photo of themselves en route to the palace party.
