In mid-January 2025, the Princess of Wales stepped out at the Royal Marsden hospital in some new bling. The mom of three accented her Blaze Milano checked brown midi coat with new trinity 18 carat rose, yellow and white-gold hoop earrings from Cartier.

Since their debut, the princess hasn’t stopped wearing the classic and delicate hoop earrings from the French luxury jeweler; she’s worn them on 11 more occasions since their first appearance last year.

Here are 5 Reasons Why Kate Middleton Can’t Stop Wearing Cartier Hoops:

1. They’re the Perfect Size

Not too big or bold, the ‘quiet luxe’ earrings make a subtle style statement. In 1924, Louis Cartier designed a band formed by three intertwined moving rings. The chromatic combination, the fluidity of the rings, the simplicity of the design and its symbolic strength make these $3,850 earrings feel inspired and iconic.

2. They Have Symbolic Meaning

The trinity design features a rose gold band which represents love and celebrates passion and affection, the yellow-gold band symbolizes fidelity and commitment while  the white-gold band denotes friendship and lasting connection.

3. They Were Probably a Special Gift

Since the Prince of Wales gifted his beloved wife a Cartier Ballon Bleu watch for their third anniversary in 2014, it’s thought that the prince also presented his spouse with this pair of timeless tricolor hoops for her 43rd birthday.

4. They Have a Royal Legacy

Princess Diana owned the romantic trinity ring and wore the piece during the 1980s often on her pinky ring. In addition, Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco also coveted the Trinity ring and wore it during her lifetime.

5. They Represent her Children

Each band of Kate’s earrings is comprised of a different metal and material; thus, some royal watchers have interpreted the trio of interlocking and interwoven rings to symbolize each of the three Wales children.
