Today, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan attended a pre-ceremony reception for the WellChild Awards. The event was held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in central London and honored inspirational children and young people living with serious illness as well as their caregivers and medical professionals.
As the winners of the awards have already been announced, Prince Harry and Meghan met with the award recipients and their families. The charity is particularly close to Prince Harry’s heart as he has been a patron of the organization since 2007.
During the evening, Prince Harry also delivered a speech and gave out an award for Most Inspirational Child (aged four to six). In the past, he’s even welcomed WellChild families to Buckingham Palace.
Meghan’s Fashion for the Evening
For the award ceremony, the Duchess of Sussex selected an Altuzarra black pantsuit. She chose the brand’s Acaia one button blazer which is made of solid stretch crepe and has a notched collar and one button front. The sleek and timeless blazer will likely become a staple in Meghan’s wardrobe as she attends more royal engagements and events and can easily be paired with pants or dresses.

Meghan also selected Altuzarra Serge High Waist Boot Cut pants which feature a subtle stretch and slim fit with a bootcut leg. The classic pants are flattering and elongating and are perfect for an evening or professional look.

In addition, the Duchess of Sussex wore a Deitas coco shantung black camisole made of Italian silk which can be found HERE.
Meghan’s stylish ‘trouser suit’ (as it’s called across the pond) is a strong statement on the art of power dressing. The duchess has lately preferred black styles–she opted for a black Emilia Wickstead dress in Dublin, a black tuxedo dress for a recent Hamilton gala and now a black Altuzarra jacket and slim pants for today’s WellChild awards. Meghan likely prefers less colorful and busy styles as they aren’t overtly flashy and keep attention on the charitable cause or event.
The Duchess of Sussex carried a shaggy deer faux leather handbag by Stella McCartney. The gold chain accented handbag can be found HERE.
The duchess wore her diamond and pearl drop earrings which were a gift from the Queen.
To finish the look, the duchess selected Aquazzura Simply Irresistible 105 Pumps in black suede.
