The Duchess of Sussex has become a style icon just like her late mother-in-law. And while it’s tragic that the young mom will never meet her husband’s mother, we imagine that she would be delighted that her son’s wife is incorporating some of her most valuable and precious jewelry pieces into her wardrobe. Before her passing, Diana created a “letter of wishes” in which she wrote of her desire for her sons to have her collection of jewels and that her timeless accessories be allocated to their wives. - Butterfly Earrings
Meghan wore Diana’s butterfly earrings for the first time in Australia. The duchess likely saved the special pair for her first overseas tour with her husband and wore a ‘Blessed’ dress with the pretty studs. Harry and Meghan announced they were expecting their first baby at the time, thus, Meghan likely sought to incorporate Diana into the special moment.
2. Engagement Ring
Prince Harry took great care in designing Meghan’s engagement ring and made sure to incorporate his mother in the special memento. The duke sourced the center stone from Botswana and the two smaller diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection.
3. Aquamarine Ring
For her ‘something blue’ on her wedding day, the Duchess of Sussex received a stunning emerald-cut aquamarine ring from her husband. The striking cocktail ring is actually part of a set which includes a bracelet but it’s yet to be determined if Meghan also received the wrist bangle.
4. Open Clasp Bracelet
The duchess has worn Diana’s gold cuff bracelet twice now–once in Australia and back in London to a performance of Cirque du Soleil. In Sydney, Meghan paired the bracelet with her butterfly earrings. And it’s likely the duchess will step out in the versatile piece for many royal engagements to come and may opt for multiple bangles like Diana.
5. Diamond Bracelet
In Tonga, Meghan opted for a diamond bracelet that was worn by the late Princess Diana just two months before her tragic death. Meghan stepped out in the sparkling piece for an evening in Tonga as well as a dinner reception in Fiji.
