Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan spent the Christmas holiday in a cozy coastal home in Canada on Vancouver Island. The royal pair and son enjoyed accommodations in a stately mansion in the British Colombia province. In 2012, images inside the property were made available by Sotheby’s. It’s likely the decor has changed a bit since the listing though lighting fixtures, granite countertops and windows are likely still in much the same order.

The waterfront abode boasts five bedrooms, two beaches and eight bathrooms and is situated on a property of just over 11,000 square feet. The grand mansion also features a three-bedroom and two bath guest cottage where it’s believed the Sussexes security team stayed during the visit. In addition, the home is equipped with a media room, wine tasting room, large living area and gourmet kitchen.

The private estate is designed with a French country theme and has waterfront views throughout the home. Temporary fencing was erected around the dwelling and security guards have been spotted stationed around the four acre property. Royal Canadian Mounted police have also been spotted patrolling near the residence.

It’s believed the home is owned by a Russian businessman who is rarely spotted on the grounds of the property or seen in town. According to the Mirror, the couple has been spotted taking Archie for walks in a nearby park along with their security officers. It was also revealed by the publication that Harry and Meghan are planning to throw a party at the home on New Year’s Day and possibly inviting some of their closest Canadian friends including Markus Anderson, Jessica Mulroney as well as Meghan’s former cast mates including Patrick J. Adams who was born in Toronto. The spacious home will be perfect for hosting a large gathering and it’s believed the party will be catered by the same company who cooked for the family on Christmas day.
