The Duchess of Cambridge threw a couture curveball when she opted for a embroidered gold dress for the 2020 BAFTA Awards. With a theme focused on sustainable fashion, many were predicting Catherine would recycle a recent colorblock chiffon ballgown or velvet mermaid throwback. Instead, the duchess wowed in an 8-year-old gown which she recycled from a long ago royal tour in Malaysia in 2012.
The floorlength dress features a sweetheart neckline with a white sheer overlay at the bust. Gold hibiscus floral detailing appears on the skirt and sleeves. In Malaysia, Kate wore the glittery gold dress for a lavish dinner at the opulent Istana Negara Palace in Kuala Lumpur.
To complete the glam style, the duchess added a statement 6 motif necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels featuring mother of pearl clovers as well as matching gold and pearl 2 motif ‘lucky charm’ Magic Alhambra earrings.
For accessories, the mom of three opted for a sparkly Marano gold glitter finished box clutch from Anya Hindmarch.
She finished the look with gold Jimmy Choo Romy 100 pumps in gold glitter. Kate also owns the sparkly heels in silver glitter.
The royal fashionista also wore her hair in an intricate updo.
