In honor of International Day of the Girl, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke with activist Malala Yousafzai from their home in Santa Barbara. For the virtual discussion, Meghan and Harry revealed they felt ‘fortunate’ to have witnessed their son Archie’s first steps during the Covid-19 crisis. “We were both there for his first steps,” Harry said. “His first run, his first fall, his first everything.” Meghan also spoke of additional family time — “In so many ways we are fortunate to be able to have this time to watch him grow, and in the absence of COVID, we would be traveling and working more,” she added. “We’d miss a lot of those moments.”
While they revealed details about their son, the Sussexes also spoke with Malala about the challenges that women and girls face around the world accessing education, especially in light of the pandemic.
