The Duchess of Cambridge is known for her elegant pastel colored Emilia Wickstead dresses, glamorous Alexander McQueen gowns and budget friendly Zara numbers. But when she’s forced to brave the blustery English countryside or the chilly city streets of London –she’s inclined to reach for more casual coats, sturdy snow boots and wool beanies. And on royal tours–Kate really shines in her winter fashion favorites.
Here are Kate Middleton’s Winter Wardrobe Must Haves:
Barts Jasmin Beanie
The duchess braved the snow in Oslo for the Royal Tour of Norway and Sweden in a Kjus colorblock quilted puffer jacket and a hand-knitted Barts Jasmin white beanie with a soft fleece lining and large pom. Kate was all smiles as she visited a large ski jumping hill in the capital of Norway alongside her husband Prince William.
Sorel 1964 Pac 2 Boots
In the French Alps in 2016, the Cambridge crew brought the cheer with their sweet family snap featuring Prince George in a dark blue snowsuit from Mountain Warehouse and Princess Charlotte outfitted in an equally adorable faux fur trimmed wadded white snowsuit from John Lewis (still available). Duchess Kate wore a white jacket from E+O and Sorel buff and black snow boots.
Sorel Torino Leather and Suede Boots
At an ice rink in Stockholm, Kate looked fashion forward in her sporty but stylish winter ensemble including a black shearling Burberry coat, Sorel Torino boots (similar DSW and Nordstrom) and a Eugenia Kim fur charcoal knit pompom beanie.
Barbour Defence Waxed Coat
In London in November 2017, Kate made a school visit in one of her favorite military inspired toppers and opted for the Barbour Defence waxed jacket. The olive utility coat works in all weather and features a water-resistant finish plus side button tabs that create a feminine fit.
Fjallraven Stina Jacket
The fall elements were no match for Duchess Kate in this Fjallraven Stina jacket — perfect for braving wintery winds and rainy English drizzle — the durable cargo style coat is a perfect for outdoor adventures like hiking, camping or countryside walks.
