The Princess of Wales brought the charm and cheer to a Christmas carol tea party. Kate hosted the multi-generational gathering in London last month and video clips of the exchange featured in her ‘Together at Christmas’ concert broadcast on ITV1.

Surprising adults working with youth and making contributions to the next generation, Kate chatted with a music therapist, retired mental health nurse and football coach.

For the outing, the princess recycled her Miu Miu Cashmere Jacquard Cardigan in red. The designer sweater has a diamond pattern featuring a repeating print of white and black roses. In addition, the woven sweater has a detachable contrast collar and cuffs.

The Miu Miu cashmere knit is also finished with gleaming mother of pearl buttons which act as a fun flourish on the chic cardigan. Perfect for wearing for yuletide tree trimming or wrapping presents, the stylish jumper is designed in a bright red Santa shade. The princess previously wore the holiday sweater for an introduction to her carol concert on ITV in December 2021.

Instead of her Roland Mouret Axon black trousers worn previously with the cardigan, Kate opted for new red trousers. Though no confirmation has been made they’re believed to possibly be from Alexander McQueen or another Roland Mouret design — the Wide Leg Silk Wool Trousers in Red.

For a finishing touch on the holiday outfit, Kate wore her Shlya Rosalia earrings in pearl. The elegant and timeless earrings are crafted with a row of freshwater pearls adorning a twisted 22-carat gold hoop.

It’s interesting to note that one of Princess Diana’s most iconic sweaters bears a strong resemblance to Kate’s red jumper.  It’s claimed Lady Diana wore her infamous ‘black sheep’ sweater as a symbolic statement against her royal relatives. She was thought to have worn the contrast collar crewneck as an act of rebellion against her status as a ‘black sheep’ (outsider) or disfavored family remember.

The Warm & Wonderful sweater was designed by Joanna Osborne and Sally Muir and though Diana never personally bought the pullover, she was reportedly gifted the cheeky printed wool sweater which she donned for polo matches in the 1980s. The sweater was later sold at auction for 1.1. million.
