The Princess of Wales looked pensive as she posed for a photograph near her home in Windsor. Bathed in the dim outdoor light shrouded under the forest canopy, the mom of three offered a hopeful but cautious update on her health status and return to royal duties.
The princess shared news on her recent recuperation from abdominal surgery and ongoing cancer treatment declaring that she has “good days and bad days.” In the post released via the Wales accounts on X and Instagram, Kate explained that her healing journey is often up and down but does include activities surrounding her children’s academic lives and light work from home projects. She says, “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”
Stoic but strong, Kate appeared solemn in the new photograph taken by Matt Porteous. The theme of her woodland setting being symbolic as she remarked that she’s “not out of the woods yet.” The full message was released via official royal channels.
For the new photograph and medical update, the princess donned her double-breasted Blaze Milano Wind Hunter Charmer Pinstriped Blazer.
The neutral jacket is designed from grain de poudre woven with silk and linen. Featuring cream colored stripes on a buff background, the tailored double-breasted blazer was last seen on the princess in mid-July 2023 at a Royal Air Force show in Fairford.
The princess previously paired the blazer with dark blue slacks and Emmy London Lulu flats in navy suede. In the new photograph, Kate is wearing jeans (likely a rewear and her Mother Denim Dazzler mid-rise straight leg jeans), low-top sneakers (possibly her Veja Esplar trainers) and a white t-shirt as well as pearl drop earrings (believed to be her Annoushka Pearl and Kiki Diamond Hoop Earrings).
Princess Kate’s health bulletin was a welcome relief for those concerned about the royal — the last official palace update was a video released on March 22nd wherein the princess disclosed that cancerous cells were discovered during her abdominal operation in January. At the time, she revealed her diagnosis came as a shock to herself and her family.
In addition to the wellness update, the princess offered royal fans some happy news and explained that she will make an appearance at the Trooping the Colour parade in London tomorrow. She is also expected to make a few appearances during the summer but will not attend Royal Ascot or Garter Day. Princess Kate’s outing during the King’s birthday celebration will mark her first official royal engagement since last Christmas.
