The Princess of Wales looked resplendent at Wimbledon last week — giving the world a dose of royal glamour when she appeared on centre court. Looking radiant in a purple dress with a draped bodice, the mom of three received a standing ovation as she took to her seat in the Royal Box alongside her sister and daughter.
As the princess sat at the tournament for around 2 hours and 40 minutes, many were thrilled to see her back in action supporting her beloved tennis club. Kate’s courtside appearance marked just one of two public outings she’s undertaken this year as she undergoes cancer treatment.
And while the princess plans to rest and recuperate for the rest of the summer, she is continuing to support her other patronages including the Natural History Museum.
The princess took to Instagram to herald the launch of the museum’s new Urban Nature Project.
The princess promoted the NHM launch by praising the power of nature to enhance and improve well-being. Detailing her support for the eco-minded project, Kate gave a shoutout to the newly developed green space with its emphasis on bio diversity and urban wildlife. (The space will also include outdoor living galleries which provide museum goers with opportunities to learn and explore the environment).
The princess has long been an advocate for the natural world; she and Prince William share a passion for environmental protection and conservation.
The new museum project includes two spaces: the Nature Discovery Garden and the Evolution Garden which spans over five acres surrounding the exterior of the building in South Kensington. In addition, the nearly 30 million garden installation has a living laboratory and new bronze Diplodocus dinosaur statue nicknamed ‘Fern.’
