The Princess of Wales has a jewelry collection worth millions — some of her most valuable pieces have been inherited or gifted.

Though she often wears modest bling on public engagements, the princess has access to the Crown’s most expensive and extravagant accessories.

From legacy gems to sparkling suites courtesy of her royal relatives, Kate often wears millions of dollars worth of adornments each year. Many gems are loaned to the princess on a temporary basis — but what costly pieces has she been gifted for keeps?

Here is the Most Expensive Jewelry Kate Middleton has been Gifted from the Royal Family:

1. Diamond and South Sea Pearl Earrings

Inherited from Princess Diana’s jewelry chest and give to Kate, these dangling earrings feature detachable pearls suspended from an open hoop of marquise cut diamonds.

Princess Kate debuted the luminous earrings on the BAFTA red carpet clad in a swan-like white evening gown by Alexander McQueen in 2019. (She reportedly used the pearls from another pair of Diana’s earrings to redesign the drops.)

The late Princess Diana stepped out in the glamorous earrings for visits to Pakistan, Budapest and New York. The estimated value is around $85,000.

2. Saudi Sapphire Necklace and Earring Suite

Gifted to Diana by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia in 1981, the princess has repurposed this sparkling set to match her signature style.

Kate made the original long drop earrings less flashy by removing the lower stone. In addition, she is believed to have possibly used the leftover blue stone to create a matching pendant necklace.

Kate was gifted the entire suite following her engagement to Prince William in 2010 (including her large 12 carat Ceylon sapphire engagement ring). The 20 million dollar set includes her iconic engagement ring, earrings, a bracelet and watch.

3. Collingwood Diamond and Pearl Earrings

Princess Diana often wore these classic earrings with the Lover’s Knot tiara. She was gifted the sparklers from jewelry company Collingwood (a favored jeweler of the Spencer family) as a wedding present in 1981.

The elegant earrings are designed with a pear shaped pearl in the shape of a drop hanging from a diamond suspender attached to two round diamond studs.

Today, Princess Kate often wears the earrings gifted to her from Prince William (inherited from Diana’s collection) for regal occasions and affairs including state banquets, diplomatic receptions, commemorative services and other important ceremonies. The earrings are valued around $45,000.

4. Diamond Bracelet

Reportedly a gift from King Charles to his new daughter-in-law upon her marriage to his eldest son, the princess wears this white and yellow gold diamond bracelet for special celebratory occasions.

The custom made bracelet did not come from the royal jewelry vault but was designed especially for Kate.

Valued around $275,00 the art deco accessory is part of a yellow and white gold set including the glittery bracelet as well as a pair of matching earrings and a ring (in total the set gifted to Kate is believed to cost around $330,000).

The princess wore the bracelet to the BAFTA Awards in Los Angeles in 2011 clad in a lilac Alexander McQueen evening dress. She’s also worn the matching earrings and bracelet together for black-tie events and galas.

5. Bentley & Skinner Art Deco Brooch

A gift for her 40th birthday, this sparkling art deco brooch is comprised of diamonds all set in platinum. Opulent and dazzling, the piece has a rectangular shape with an openwork pattern consisting of several round brilliant-cut diamonds along with a larger central diamond all mounted on a platinum setting.

Capturing the elegance and glamour of the Jazz Age, the sparkling vintage brooch is a true antique and hails from the 1920s.

The princess debuted the piece at Remembrance Sunday in November 2022 and wore it to the South African state banquet in 2022 (in a white Jenny Packham ‘Elspeth’ cape dress). In addition, she accessorized her sparkling sequin pink Packham gown at a Diplomatic Reception in 2023 with the glitzy piece priced at $19,433.

6. Gold Charm Bracelet

A present from Queen Camilla, Kate’s monogrammed gold charm bracelet is not the most lavish piece in her jewelry armoire but is still a special accessory in her collection.

The personalized piece was given to her by the then-Duchess of Cornwall upon her marriage to Prince William in 2011.

Featuring the capital letter C engraved on the front and back of the hanging pendant charm, the bracelet features both Camilla and Catherine’s initials — one letter ‘C’ under a coronet in a circle and the other ‘C’ in italics under an engraved crown.

The chunky gold link chain bracelet is similar to ones owned and worn by Queen Camilla as part of a bracelet stack. The piece is estimated to have cost around $3500.
