In surprising news, the Princess of Wales wedding makeup artist was revealed as an artist who works under Bobbi Brown. The secret was disclosed on beauty editor Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins September 24th Breaking Beauty podcast (Episode 409) featuring acclaimed makeup artist Bobbi Brown.
Brown revealed the beauty pro who applied Kate’s beautiful bridal makeup as Hannah Martin.
The UK based professional makeup artist has her own YouTube channel @HannahMartinMakeup where she leads tutorials on topics like applying false eyelashes, building a makeup bag and wearing a red lip.
The professional makeup artist also leads a Makeup Masterclass on YouTube and has an Instagram page with a strong following of over 300,000 beauty enthusiasts. The page features advice on everything from heatwave proof makeup to skincare basics.
Dubbed the “Queen of Radiant Skin and Makeup Eye Tutorials” — Martin became a member of Bobbi Brown’s Global Leadership Team during her successful cosmetology career.
Martin’s bio even mentions her famous wedding client — and says the beauty professional “contributed to the radiant beauty of a couple royal brides.”
In addition, Martin’s portfolio includes mention of makeup looks for famous faces like actresses Helen Mirren and Hannah Waddingham.
While Kate’s wedding makeup look was long attributed to the princess’ handiwork, the revelation came as news to royal fans who suspected Kate had applied her own bridal makeup. Headlines at the time attributed Kate’s beauty styling to her own makeup skills.
The rumor that the princess was responsible for her wedding makeup look has persisted over a decade since the Wales tied the know in front of millions of well-wishers in April 2011.
The revelation makes sense considering Kate’s makeup for the day included numerous Bobbi Brown products.
Still, the princess reportedly did help Martin with finishing touches on her matrimony makeup. To prepare for the big day, Kate even had a few lessons in her private Chelsea home under the tutelage of London based freelance makeup artist Arabella Preston.
American cosmetics mogul Bobbi Brown appeared on the Breaking Beauty podcast to dispel the royal makeup myth. Brown said that she “wished she had done Kate’s makeup” but that artist Hannah Martin had been responsible for Kate’s gorgeous wedding makeup.
And that’s not Brown’s only royal connection –the beauty guru has also been photographed spending time with the Duchess of Sussex in the Hamptons.
