Leaving 5-month-old Prince Louis at home, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William attended the wedding of one of Kate Middleton’s closet friends Sophie Carter in Norfolk at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Saturday afternoon.

Sophie and Kate have been friends for a number of years and have appeared together socially and at official royal functions. Sophie was even named Princess Charlotte’s Godparent in 2015. In addition, she used to date Prince William‘s best friend Thomas van Straubenzee — who happens to be another of Princess Charlotte’s godparents!

The country wedding was not the first wedding for bride Sophie as of late. Indeed, Kate’s close confidant has attended a number of royal weddings. She was at the wedding of Pippa Middleton and James Matthews as well as a guest for Prince Harry and Meghan’s early summer nuptials.

For this occasion, Prince George was once again tasked with being pageboy while younger sister Princess Charlotte was back to bridesmaid duties after playing a major role in the wedding party of Uncle Harry and Aunt Meghan in May.

Kate’s Wedding Guest Style

For this occasion, Duchess Kate wore the same Catherine Walker dress coat in cornflower blue that she had worn in Poland in July 2017 along with the same blue topaz and diamond Kiki McDonough drop earrings and necklace.

The Duchess owns many pairs of Kiki McDonough earrings and also loves citrine, green amethyst and white diamond and yellow gold earrings by the jewelry designer. This particular pair are pale blue topaz ovals with cushion cut stones set in 18 carat white gold.

The Duchess of Cambridge also wore the Kiki Eden Blue Topaz Gold Flower Necklace.

And the Duchess of Cambridge finished her ensemble with a new headpiece from Juliette Botterill. The headpiece is based off a gold rose headband featured on the milliner’s website (thanks to Laura for the information). Perfect for a weekend wedding, the headband is adorned with roses and leaves and scattered swarovski crystals.
