With a busy royal schedule and countless mom duties that need her attention, the Princess of Wales doesn’t have time for frequent fashion fittings and repeat tailoring sessions. To create more free time in her day, the British beauty often has her style team purchase her fashion favorites in multiples. Even back in her pre-royal days the princess would sometimes buy high-street finds in multiple colors or pick up an extra piece of clothing for her sister. (For instance, Kate’s younger sibling was snapped wearing the same top Kate wore for engagement photos with Prince William — the Whistles frill collar blouse).

It makes sense for Princess Kate to buy duplicates so that her wardrobe stays in pristine condition. In addition, if a garment fits well and meets her sartorial standards she’s inclined to simply wear the same thing again but in a different color variation.

4. Longline Coats

Over the years the princess has become more enthusiastic about monochrome ensembles and loves a tonal outfit — mixing similar shades to create a cohesive and standout style. She’s also developed an affinity for longline duster coats which add  professional polish to a simple workwear outfit of a blouse and pants. 7. Alexander McQueen Double-Breasted Long Coat

Palace seamstresses got a day off when Kate opted to order this long coat in three colors including: dark green, chocolate brown and red. Not one to fix what isn’t broken, this English rose opted to save a day of shopping and have her favorite maxi coat rendered in three different shades.
